Yes, we can.

One of the encouraging things about the craft beer industry is that more and more breweries are expanding their packaging capabilities and saying to the customer: "Yes, we can." And this is a very good thing.

There are obvious advantages for beers to be canned instead of bottled. Cans prevent all light from getting to the beer and reducing its freshness, unlike bottles. They are cheaper to produce and better for the environment. Storage is much easier because of the can design. And, what I feel is the most important part, is that cans are allowed at nearly every beach and pool across the country. Nothing is better than having your favorite craft beer while chilling in a chair, under the sun, and by a body of water.

Continuing the week of IPAs I have poured myself a Hop Crisis! from 21st Amendment brewing. So named for the recent worldwide hops shortage when many brewers cut back on the amount of hops used in their beers. Not the case with this one. My beer guru, Rob, at the LHBS wouldn't let me leave the store without picking one of these up. He actually opened a 4pk box of them just so I could take 1. So needless to say I obliged. This is the second beer from 21A and it is equally good as the first. I kind of went picture crazy with this one for some reason. The can design is awesome so I took a panoramic set of pics. Then I went for the pour pic. And then as I saw how crystal clear it was I went for the close up pic with Shark Week in the background. Who doesn't like beer and Shark Week?!

Anyways this Imperial IPA (or double IPA, as we've previously discussed) is very typical of what you would expect from the style. Golden straw color that is super clear. The bitter aftertaste is there and it has a bold hop profile, but you can tell that a few types of hops were used. That characteristic gives you a few different flavors to take in and enjoy. This could be a really good choice if you are a looking to dip your toes into the world of IIPAs. But beware: you might get hooked and not be able to go back.

All in all you I am chalking this one in the definitely drink again category. Yes, I love me some IPAs, and I have been putting practically all of them in that category. But I am trying to give as honest of a response as possible. Besides, its my beer, my blog, and my rules.
